NEWS FLASH – CHANGES TO SEPTEMBER U.S. TOUR DATES

Hey everyone!

We've had some changes on tour dates for our west coast U.S. tour. Please check these FINAL dates and make sure you show up and represent.

We're already in rehearsals, doing various radio and press interviews, and stoked about coming your way and meeting you!

Meldrum drummer Gene Hoglan made the following statement:

“Hey everybody! We’re all super-excited to announce this upcoming MELDRUM tour! It’s gonna be a few selected West Coast dates, where we unveil the new line-up of rip-snortin’ bitches, and I’d love for everybody to come out and get your heads handed to ya! We’re gonna be focusing on the upcoming ‘Lifer’ material which is a big step forward for the band, and we can’t wait to pummel all of ya with some heavy. We’ll see you on the road, people!”

HOLLYWOOD, CA (May 3, 2009) – Michelle Meldrum’s family and son Jake are honoring Michelle and the one year anniversary of her passing with a benefit concert through Dark Moon Entertainment and the Whisky.

On May 18, Michelle Meldrum, leader of the band Meldrum and former Phantom Blue guitarist, was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank in critical condition. She passed away late afternoon Wednesday, May 21, 2008 as a result of a cystic growth on her brain that had restricted oxygen and blood flow to her brain rendering her brain dead.

Meldrum had just completed writing and recording the bands soon to be released album with drummer Gene Hoglan, along with the new lineup Michele Madden (vocals) and Laura Christine (bass). The surviving band members plan to release the album later this year in tribute to their fallen band-mate.

Those who knew Michelle recognize that she lived every moment for the music, and was regarded as both an exceptional guitarist and a nurturer by her associates, friends, family and son.

Tribute to MICHELLE MELDRUM @ NAMM 2009

Michelle Meldrum was born on Sept 28, 1968 in Detroit, Michigan to a family of musicians and actors. At 13, Meldrum moved to Los Angeles, California and started her career in music by forming the thrash metal band WARGOD with drummer Gene Hoglan (DARK ANGEL, DEATH, and STRAPPING YOUNG LAD). When WARGOD disbanded Meldrum continued her search for a band and become both co-founder and lead guitarist in all girl metal/rock band PHANTOM BLUE. PHANTOM BLUE released their self-titled debut album on Shrapnel Records as well as Roadrunner Records, and eventually landed a deal with major label Geffen.

Once PHANTOM BLUE disbanded after a successful run at fame, Michelle Meldrum moved to Sweden and formed her current band MELDRUM. After many triumphant tours with such acts as MOTÖRHEAD and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, she reunited with Hoglan in 2006. Hoglan had appeared as a special guest on the MELDRUM album prior and played several events. Inspired to once again collaborate, Meldrum moved back to America where she and Hoglan began writing the aforementioned third MELDRUM album together.

Metal Band MELDRUM Completes Recording Of New Album In Honor Of Michelle Meldrum

HOLLYWOOD, CA (November 24, 2008) - MELDRUM’s drummer, Gene Hoglan (DARK ANGEL, DEATH, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD), announced the completion of recording their new album, entitled LIFER, consisting of ten tracks for 2009 release.

The new album stands as a proud tribute to founder, Michelle Meldrum, who passed away earlier this year. The album contains material written by both Meldrum and Hoglan, with new member’s bassist Laura Christine (Warface) and vocalist Michele Madden (Tourettes).

LIFER is sonically different in direction than anything previously released by the band. With new life, and new talent, this album has carried the talents these four have to a higher level.

"Let me say this: Never have I obsessed over the recording of any album I've been involved in as I have with MELDRUM's latest,” explains Hoglan. “The tragic circumstances that took Michelle from us, also provided us with a laser-sharp focus to record the most amazing album we could. Michele Madden, Laura Christine, and hell, even Chicken, our engineer, put forth performances of a lifetime, with each member's full love and respect going into every nuance of every song. Not only to honor Michelle, but to also lay down some badass music, which was ultimately what she stood for…what MELDRUM stands for. I think the songs speak for themselves, and I, for one, have never been prouder to be a part of a family, let alone a project such as this. Metal with balls. Crank it up, indeed.”

Michele Madden of MELDRUM Regarding Band Member’s Death

MELDRUM vocalist Michele Madden has issued the following statement on the passing of her bandmate, MELDRUM/ex-PHANTOM BLUE guitarist Michelle Meldrum, who died on May 21 as a result of a cystic growth that had restricted oxygen and blood flow to her brain, rendering her braindead.

"My black heart is broken”, comments singer Michele Madden, of the loss of her band mate and good friend Michelle Meldrum a little over 2 weeks ago. "It has taken me a while to get my head around all of this, but I wanted to thank all the fans of both Meldrum and Tourettes who have reached out to me over this horrible time. We are all so saddened, and I have been inundated with so much mail from those who were touched by Michelle that I have been unable to answer all of it. That’s why I wanted to get this out, to let the fans know that it is gratefully received and that it means so much to me right now..."

Madden and her Meldrum band mates are still pushing forward putting the finishing touches on the new album to release later in the year. They decided that they will continue recording and touring as a unit, keeping the project name to honor their fallen band mate.

"I am angry and shattered that this unexpected tragedy had to happen to such a wonderful woman, and I am gonna use that in the songs. I am about to go into the studio with producer Rob Shallcross in Vancouver to get all the ends tied up. Its going to be one of the hardest things I have ever done but not doing it would be even harder."

Drummer Gene Hoglan is currently on tour with Dethklok, but Madden claims that they will coordinate and be in constant contact while she is in the studio.

MICHELLE MELDRUM In A Coma; Has Not Been Officially Declared Dead

Michelle Meldrum, leader of her own band called MELDRUM and former PHANTOM BLUE guitarist, is currently in a coma in a Los Angeles hospital and hasn't been officially declared dead, despite earlier reports to the contrary.

According to Dawn Robinson of Dark Moon Entertainment, Michelle is in critical condition and is undergoing a number of tests which her family is hoping will result in a miracle that will allow her to "pull through." An official update regarding her status is expected sometime within the next 24 hours.

Michelle Meldrum was born in Detroit, Michigan to a family of musicians and actors, and moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of 13. She started her career in music by forming the thrash metal band WARGOD with drummer Gene Hoglan (DARK ANGEL, DEATH, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD), then moved on to become both co-founder and lead guitarist in PHANTOM BLUE. PHANTOM BLUE released its self-titled debut album on Shrapnel Records in the U.S. (Roadrunner in Europe and Japan) and eventually landed a major label deal with Geffen.

While her career flourished, Michelle moved to Sweden to form MELDRUM. After many successful tours with such acts as MOTÖRHEAD and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, she reunited with Gene in 2006 when he appeared as a guest on MELDRUM album and events. Inspired to once again collaborate, Michelle moved back to America where she and Gene began and completed writing the third MELDRUM album together.

Michelle Meldrum has a three-year-old son named Jake Thomas.

Meldrum Announce New Lineup and Enter Recording Studio

After teaming up to write, Michelle Meldrum and Gene Hoglan recently announced MELDRUM’s new member lineup before entering the studio to record tracks for their new album in Los Angeles, CA on April 29.

MELDRUM’s new lineup features: Australian metal vocalist Michele Madden (Tourettes), Laura Christine (Warface), Gene Hoglan (Death, Dark Angel, Strapping Young Lad) and Michelle Meldrum.

The new album, in which band members strive to transcend anything previously recorded, will follow up their last CD Blowin’ Up The Machine, which released last year on Frontiers/Locomotive.

According to Michelle Meldrum, “The new songs are slammin’, heavier and more exciting than ever. I am honored to work with Michele Madden, she is an amazing singer with an extremely heavy voice and a huge range. We are venturing into new territory sonically, and can’t wait to perform the new material live. Laura Christine is beyond awesome and definitely brings a heavy edge with her background experience from WARFACE, and…well, Gene is a drum god and his history speaks for itself. It’s a new era for the band and it feels great.”

Gene Hoglan added, “Both Michelle and I are super-excited to be working with the amazingly-talented and ultra-gorgeous Michelle Madden, and we welcome her with open arms into the MELDRUM family. We‘ve been writing a ton of new, ballcrushing, METAL-as-fuck songs in celebration of the leggy one’s arrival on our shores. **WHISKEY SHOW CANCELLED!**

We regret to inform that MELDRUM has been forced to cancel its scheduled concert at The Whisky in Hollywood CA on January 17, as US immigration officials have denied one of the member's request for visa.

MELDRUM would like to apologize to their fans that they won't be able to perform their scheduled concert, but it is out of their control. However, Michelle Meldrum and Gene Hoglan will still appear at NAMM on Jan. 18th & 19th.

Thanks for your understanding about the show and they will make it up to you !

So farthe critics love us, the reviews have been great so far..... The album is fucking brutal and kick the shit out of any album so far this year....I mean come on, we have Gene Hoglan on drums and Lemmy on some back ups, are you kidding me ???? Not that we think we need some monstruous musicians to come in and take over, we do that pretty good ourselves, but we got a little help from our friends, nothing wrong with that! And we are so thankful...

What's up all you Meldrumheads!
Some updates from the sunny state of California. We have just finished recording drums and bass for the rest of the album in Bob Kullicks studio.
It sounds amazing! Linda McDonalds and Frida Stahl are kicking everybodies collective ass, hard!
The album will be a killer. Moa and Michelle will be starting up guitar and vocal sessions soon, down and dirty, like always!
Lemmy from Motorhead came and guest on the song Miss Me When I'm Gone, a hard rocker of ours that he wrote the lyrics for.
Another guest will be Gene Hoglan from the mighty Strapping Young Lad, who will be slamming down some drums on a couple of tracks.
So far fucking good!

Also over here we will be a photoshoot with Robert John, who was Guns N Roses exclusive photographer for years. He's gonna make us look even better, if thats possible...
And coming soon a video made by upcoming director David Grieshop.
As you can see we are keeping our asses pretty busy. Looking forward in seeing all you people on the road, hopefully on the upcoming Motorhead tour in Germany.....'til then....

Moa did an exclusive performace as the only guest with Mot?rhead when they shot their 30th anniversary DVD at London Astoria, UK the 16th of june. She sang Killed by death with Lemmy in front of a very enthusiastic crowd!! The day before she was on the set when Motorhead shot the video for their new single Whorehouse Blues and appeared in the video together with the band among some fine looking women and "world wide celebrities".
